Company overview

Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. KG was a German sports car manufacturer founded in 2006 by Klaus Dieter Frers. The company initially produced the Artega GT, a mid-engine coupé built with an aluminum space-frame and carbon fiber bodywork. In 2010, Tresalia Capital acquired a controlling stake in the company, followed by Paragon AG in 2012. Production of the Artega GT continued until July 2012, when bankruptcy proceedings were initiated. In 2015, Artega showcased the Scalo and Karo models at the Frankfurt Auto Show. In 2017, the Scalo Superelletra debuted at Geneva. The brand was acquired by ElectricBrands in 2022, with plans to produce the Evetta based on Artega’s technology. The company previously developed and produced electric vehicles such as the SE, Scalo, and Karo-Isetta.
