Company overview

Shenzhen Denza New Energy Co., Ltd., operating as Denza, is a vehicle manufacturer owned by BYD Auto. Established in 2010 as a joint venture with Daimler AG, Denza initially focused on electric vehicle development and sales within China. The brand’s early models included the Denza EV, which received government subsidies at launch. In 2021, a restructuring reduced Daimler’s stake to 10%, increasing BYD's ownership. Subsequent models, such as the Denza D9 and N7/N8 SUVs, were introduced. In September 2024, Mercedes-Benz transferred its remaining shares to BYD, resulting in Denza becoming a wholly owned subsidiary. The company now exports vehicles to Southeast Asia and plans expansion into Europe and the Middle East. As of 2026, Denza will feature a range of models including the D9 MPV and various SUV variants.
