Dorcen Motor Co., Ltd. was established in 2014 as a subsidiary of Jiangsu Jintan Changdanghu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The company initially operated a facility formerly used by JMCG’s JMCGL, producing vehicles under the Zotye Domy brand. In 2018, Dorcen Motor Co., Ltd. introduced its own marque, Dorcen, with three initial models: the E20 electric city car, the G70S mid-size crossover, and the G60S compact crossover. The company operated assembly plants in Jiangsu and Jiangxi. In 2021, Dorcen Motor Co., Ltd. filed for bankruptcy. As of December 2022, the brand was renamed to Docan. In June 2023, Docan began selling the V07 electric mid-size SUV. Previously, Dorcen produced vehicles based on Zotye Domy and Qiling products.
