Company overview
DS Automobiles is a French luxury-premium marque created in 2009. It originated as part of Citroën, later becoming a standalone brand owned by PSA Group and then Stellantis. The DS marque was created in 2014, derived from the original Citroën DS line of models produced since 2009. The name ‘DS’ is a reference to the classic Citroën DS executive car and is pronounced as ‘déesse’ in French, meaning ‘goddess’. The brand began with the Citroën DS3 in 2010, based on the C3 platform. Subsequent models include the DS4 (2010), DS5 (2011), and DS7 (2018). DS Automobiles operates a dealership network called DS Store, introduced in China and Europe. The company withdrew from the Chinese market in late 2023. DS Performance is its motorsport division, supporting technological development for Formula E and partnering with teams such as Virgin Racing and Techeetah.
