Company overview

Elfin Sports Cars Pty Ltd was founded in South Australia in 1959 by Garrie Cooper. The company initially produced sports cars and motor racing vehicles. From 1998, it was owned by Bill Hemming and Nick Kovatch, before being sold to Tom Walkinshaw in 2006. In May 2023, Young Timers Garage (YTG) acquired the business. Elfin has won 29 championships and major races, including Australian Sports Car Championships (1970, 1973, 1974, 1975) and Australian Formula Ford Series titles (1970, 1971, 1974, 1982). The Elfin Heritage Centre in Melbourne displays vehicles from the company’s history. Production of Elfin cars ceased in March 2012.
