Company overview
Ginetta Cars Limited is a British specialist builder of racing and sports cars based in Garforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The company was founded in 1958 by the Walklett brothers, initially building kit cars based on pre-war vehicles. Early models included the G2 and G3, followed by the G4 and later the G10 and G11. In 1989, the company was sold to an international group led by Martin Phaff. Under subsequent ownership, including Lawrence Tomlinson in 2005 and later Farbio Sports Cars, Ginetta produced a range of models such as the G20, G50, and G60. Notable vehicles include the G12, a successful competitor in motorsport, and the Tora estate car. Production has varied over time, with periods of kit car sales alongside complete vehicle manufacturing. Ginetta currently focuses on building sports cars, including the G40 and G50, for both racing and road use.
