Company overview

Hafei Motor Co., Ltd. is a Chinese automaker currently operating as a subsidiary of Changan Ford. It manufactured passenger vehicles, small trucks, and commercial vans. Formerly owned by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Hafei initially produced vehicles under the Songhuajiang brand, based on Suzuki Carry models. By 2002, Hafei began selling its vehicles directly under that brand name. The company’s vehicles always carried the "HFJ" identity code. In 2009, Chang’an Automobile Group acquired most Hafei-related assets. Subsequently, Changan announced plans to discontinue Hafei production and repurpose its facilities for use by Changan Ford. Hafei produced a variety of small cars, MPVs, and mini vehicles, many designed by Pininfarina. Models included the Baili, Lobo, Zhongyi, and Saibao series, with some vehicles rebadged from other manufacturers such as Yulon Sunny and Mitsubishi.
