Roewe is an automotive brand owned by SAIC Motor since 2006. It originated as a replacement for the MG Rover brand following the company’s collapse in 2005. SAIC acquired technology from MG Rover and created Roewe, initially based on models like the 75 and 25. The brand has since expanded its offerings, including electric vehicles like the Marvel X and Ei5. Roewe’s design strategy has evolved over time, moving towards a more streamlined alphanumeric naming system and featuring fewer curves. In 2024, SAIC Motor announced the integration of its Rising Auto brand into Roewe, positioning Rising as a premium electric product line within the larger Roewe portfolio.
