Company overview

Stevens-Duryea was an American automobile manufacturer founded in 1901 by J. Frank Duryea and linked to the J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company. The company initially produced runabouts, then developed luxury cars with six-cylinder engines. By 1906, Stevens-Duryea was producing models like the Model S Big Six. Production continued through 1915, when the company ceased manufacturing due to economic conditions and a desire to maintain quality. In 1919, the rights were acquired by a new company, which restarted production in 1920. However, subsequent attempts to revive the brand ultimately failed, with production ending in 1927. Over 14,000 passenger cars were produced during the company’s history.
