Company overview
Venturi is a Monaco-based automotive manufacturer founded in 1984 by Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godfroy as MVS (Manufacture de Voitures de Sport). The company initially focused on producing high-performance Grand Tourisme cars, beginning with a Volkswagen Golf GTi engine and evolving to include engines like the Peugeot 505 Turbo and PRV V6. Production of Venturi vehicles spanned from 1987 to the mid-1990s, with a total of approximately 72 cars manufactured for racing homologation. In 2000, Gildo Pallanca Pastor acquired the company and shifted its focus to electric vehicles, initiating projects like Mission 01: Jamais Contente, a series of speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Venturi has also been involved in motorsport, becoming the first manufacturer to join the Formula E World Championship in 2014. The company has supplied powertrains to Dragon Racing and HWA Racelab, and in 2019, signed a title partnership with ROKiT. More recently, Venturi has expanded into space exploration through strategic partnerships with Venturi Lab and Venturi Astrolab, developing technologies for the Moon, including a lunar wheel for NASA's Artemis campaign. The company’s latest venture is the MSG Racing team, a partnership with Maserati for the 2023 Formula E season.
