Company overview
Zenos Cars is a British automotive company based in Wymondham, Norfolk. It was founded in 2012 by Ansar Ali and Mark Edwards, who previously worked at Lotus Cars and Caterham Cars. The company focused on designing and producing lightweight sports cars, specifically the Zenos E10 series. In January 2017, Zenos entered administration due to cancelled export orders. A consortium led by Alan Lubinsky’s AC Cars acquired the company and assets in March 2017. Matt Windle joined as Operations Director in October 2015, bringing experience from Tesla and Caterham Technology and Innovation. Chris Weston led engineering efforts for the car’s production. Zenos Cars hand-produced vehicles in its Wymondham factory, beginning with the E10 in January 2015 and later introducing the E10 S and E10 R models. Production ceased in the UK in 2017, with plans to relocate production to South Africa. Zenos Cars sold its vehicles in the UK, USA, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Italy. Approximately 50% of production was for markets outside the UK.
