Company overview

Carlsson was a German car tuning manufacturer founded in 1989 by Rolf and Andreas Hartge. The company specialized in modifications for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, offering a range of products including alloy wheels and performance upgrades. In 2006, Carlsson began a more aggressive marketing strategy in the United States through a new importer. The company produced vehicles based on models such as Citroën, SAAB, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and Genesis. In 2012, Zhongsheng Group Holdings Limited acquired a 70% stake in the company. Later, Sambo Motors Co. Ltd., a Korean firm, took control in 2015. Carlsson is known for its CK35 RS Race Car, introduced in 2005, and the C25 model debuted at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The company also collaborated with fashion house Etienne Aigner on coachbuilt vehicles, such as the Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS "Eau Rouge" in 2007.
