Company overview

Cisitalia was founded in Turin, Italy, in 1946 by Piero Dusio. The company initially utilized Fiat parts to construct the D46, a racing car designed by Dante Giacosa. This model achieved success in voiturette competitions and was driven to victories by Tazio Nuvolari. Cisitalia then commissioned Ferry Porsche to develop the 360 Grand Prix car, which proved too expensive for production. In 1947, Pinin Farina created the 202GT chassis, which became a notable design achievement. Production of the 202GT was limited to approximately 170 units, primarily coachbuilt by firms such as Pinin Farina and Stabilimenti Farina. Cisitalia continued to produce variants of the 202, including the SMM Nuvolari Spider and other competition models. These cars were built for racing and featured innovative bodywork designs.
