Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong. Established in 1948 as Tongsheng Machining Plant, it evolved into a holding company and joint-stock corporation in 2005. GAC produces vehicles under its own brands, including Trumpchi, Aion, Hyptec, and Everus, as well as vehicles through joint ventures with foreign automakers such as GAC Toyota, GAC Honda, and GAC BYD. In 2021, it was the fifth-largest automobile manufacturer in China and ranked fourth among Chinese plug-in electric vehicle manufacturers. The company has a history of collaborations, including joint ventures with Isuzu, Peugeot Citroën, Fiat Chrysler, Mitsubishi Motors, and BYD. GAC acquired Changfeng Motor in 2011 and Gonow in 2017. As of November 2023, GAC Group announced plans to develop all-solid-state batteries and ammonia-powered engines. In 2025, GAC Group partnered with Huawei to create a new high-end electric brand, Qijing, operated by Huawang Automotive. The company has expanded its international presence with offices in Lebanon and Chile, and a factory in Indonesia.
