Company overview

Lola Cars Limited is a British automobile manufacturer founded in 1958 by Eric Broadley in Bromley, England. The company initially built small front-engine sports cars and later diversified into Formula Junior, Formula 3, Formula 2, and Formula 1 vehicles. Broadley designed the Ford V8 powered Lola Mk.6 coupe, leading to the Ford GT40. After a period of financial difficulties and asset sales in 2012, Lola Cars was acquired by Multimatic Inc. and The Carl A. Haas Automotive company in 2012. In 2022, Till Bechtolsheimer purchased the company with the intention of reviving it. Lola has a history in motorsport, including success in CanAm sports car racing and LMP2 championships. The company has also supplied Formula One teams, including Bowmaker & Parnell, Honda Racing, and Haas. Lola produced a range of sports cars for Le Mans-style racing, including the B98/10 and B2K/10. In 2024, Lola Cars joined the Formula E World Championship as an entrant and powertrain supplier in a technical partnership with Yamaha.
