Company overview
Moretti S.p.A. was an Italian automobile manufacturer founded in 1925. The company initially produced motorcycles, using engines from various manufacturers such as Ladetto and DKW. Later, it began building microcars and commercial vehicles during World War II, including electric trucks and a small electric car. In 1946, Moretti transitioned to conventional cars, beginning with the ‘Cita’ and ‘600’ models. From 1953, the ‘750’ model and its variants were produced extensively. In the late 1950s, Moretti began using Fiat mechanicals and chassis for its automobiles. Production decreased significantly throughout the 1970s, with a shift towards specialized models based on Fiat vehicles like the Panda and Uno. Moretti produced limited numbers of special conversions, such as a cabriolet version of the Fiat Uno, and imported the Ital Turbo Uno to the United States in 1989.
