Company overview
Ram Trucks is a brand of light to mid-weight pickup and commercial vehicles, operating as a division of Stellantis North America. Established in 2009 through a spin-off from Dodge, Ram Trucks initially utilized the Dodge Ram line’s branding. The brand's logo is derived from the head of a ram, originally used by Dodge. Production began at Sterling Heights Assembly in Michigan in 1953, initially as a military facility. Ram Trucks currently manufactures vehicles at facilities in North America, Western Asia, and South America, including plants in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, and Italy. The brand produces a range of vehicles, including the Ram 1500, Ram Heavy Duty, and Ram ProMaster line of vans. These vehicles are often adapted from Fiat models sold in various markets, such as the Ram 700 (Fiat Strada), Ram 1000 (Fiat Toro), and Ram ProMaster City/V1000 (Fiat Doblò). In 2018, a Super Bowl commercial featuring Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech generated significant controversy. Ram Trucks vehicles are frequently used in the television series Yellowstone.
