Company overview

The Roosevelt was a car produced by the Marmon Motor Car Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, during 1929 and 1930. It was designed to be a relatively affordable automobile, with advertising emphasizing its value as "Smart Transportation for the Thrifty." The car’s initial sales in 1929 reached approximately 24,500 units. The Roosevelt featured a straight-eight engine and was the first American automobile priced under $1,000. The sedan and coupe models sold for $995. The Roosevelt included a unique control system. A single button served as the horn, starter, and headlight switch. The car also displayed a black and white image of Theodore Roosevelt on the radiator grille. Following its initial production, the Roosevelt name was discontinued for the 1931 Marmon models, but the car’s design evolved into the Model 70 Marmon.
