Company overview
Troller Veículos Especiais S/A was founded in 1995 by Rogério Farias. The company began as a Brazilian manufacturer of off-road vehicles. In 1997, Mário Araripe joined the company and together they built the first gasoline-powered T4. Mass production of the vehicle started in 1999 with a factory built in Horizonte, Ceará. In 2005, Troller expanded its operations by opening a manufacturing plant in Angola to serve the African market. In January 2007, Ford do Brasil acquired Troller for R$400 million. The Troller T4 was used in rally races, including the Dakar Rally. A redesign of the T4 occurred in 2014. Production at the Horizonte plant ceased by the end of 2021, following Ford’s decision to discontinue operations in Brazil. In 2025, a state-owned company acquired the land and plans to assemble electric hybrid vehicles.
