Company overview

Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (ZGH), established in 1986, began as a refrigerator parts manufacturer and transitioned into the motorcycle industry in 1994. In 1997, it entered the automotive sector as China’s first private automobile company. ZGH was restructured into a holding company in 2003, with Li Shufu as its primary owner. The group acquired Volvo Cars in 2010, followed by Manganese Bronze Holdings in 2013. In 2017, ZGH acquired Lotus Cars and established Lynk & Co as a new brand. As of 2023, ZGH ranked 225th on the Fortune Global 500 list. The company’s operations encompass a wide range of brands, including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Polestar, Proton, and commercial vehicles through various subsidiaries and joint ventures. In 2024, ZGH formed strategic partnerships with Daimler/Mercedes-Benz and Renault to develop electric vehicles and powertrain technology, including a joint venture for Smart production with Daimler and an agreement to produce electric vehicles in Brazil with Renault.
