Polaris Inc. is an American automotive manufacturer headquartered in Medina, Minnesota. Founded in Roseau, Minnesota, in 1954, the company began with Edgar Hetteen and his associates developing snowmobiles. Initially named Polaris Industries Inc., the company produced snowmobiles through Victory Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycle subsidiaries until 2017 and 2025, respectively. Polaris initially developed ATV engines with Robin Industries before establishing in-house engine production capacity starting in 1997. The company relocated manufacturing operations to Mexico in 2010, maintaining production of vehicles and powertrains at facilities in Osceola and Roseau. Polaris acquired Aixam-Mega in 2013, and later invested in Brammo, an electric vehicle company. In 2019, the company rebranded as Polaris Inc. and introduced the Slingshot three-wheeler. Polaris Government and Defense produces vehicles for military use, including the MRZR utility ATV and the DAGOR off-road vehicle. Polaris Racing is a leading team in the World Power Sports Association Snocross circuit, holding numerous championships.
